Bachelor’s Degrees at Cardinal Stritch University


Earning your bachelor’s degree at Cardinal Stritch University in Madison requires at least four years of coursework. Adult students can choose a major from a number of specialties, and are required to complete a certain number of adult education courses within their major. Adult students enrolled in the bachelor’s degree program may also be required to complete a number of courses in related fields to satisfy additional university requirements.

Bachelor of Science in Business Administration


Degree Description
The Bachelor of Science in Business Administration program is a 41-credit, upper division academic program designed for adult learners who wish to relate their practical career experience to business and management theory. The program has a particular emphasis on technical and quantitative skills in addition to management science, and provides an effective balance of theory and practical application.

The curriculum is designed to enable students to work effectively in a business environment that has become increasingly more complex. Students immediately use on-the-job skills they learn in the classroom. Included are courses in the following areas: accounting, finance and financial administration; statistics, management and planning; marketing; business law; management information systems; economics; and business ethics. The core curriculum is structured sequentially, with students taking one course at a time.

Courses involve four-hour class sessions once a week, usually for five weeks. Participants also form study groups made up of three to five students who meet outside of class for four hours on a weekly basis to work on assigned individual and group projects.

At the end of the course sequence, students are required to complete a capstone course that integrates material from all of the previous course work through a focus on strategic management and includes the completion of a major paper addressing an issue, problem, or concern in the student’s work environment.

Students obtain the Bachelor of Science in Business Administration degree by using the above business administration courses to build upon other traditional and non-traditional learning experiences.

A minimum of 128 undergraduate credits is required for the BSBA degree.

Bachelor of Science in Human Services Management


Degree Description
The Bachelor of Science in Human Services Management is a 41-credit, upper division, academic program designed for adult learners who wish to relate their practical career experience to business and management theory. The program places special emphasis on developing the knowledge and skills essential for the management of human services whether in the not-for-profit or for-profit organization.

Providing a wide-ranging and detailed foundation in the management of human services organizations, the program offers coursework in the following areas: management and supervision, legal and ethical issues, community resources development, communications and grant writing, human resources, finance and budgeting, marketing and fundraising, statistics, and strategy.

The core curriculum is structured sequentially, with students taking one course at a time in the designed sequence. By combining academic learning with community service projects, the program allows for service-learning opportunities in which students can apply concepts learned in their courses to practice.

At the end of the course sequence, students are required to complete a Capstone Course which integrates material from all of the previous coursework through a focus on strategy.

Students obtain the Bachelor of Science in Human Services Management degree by using the management core to build upon other traditional and non-traditional learning experiences.

A minimum of 128 undergraduate credits is required for the BS-HSM degree.

Bachelor of Science in Management


Degree Description
The Bachelor of Science in Management program is a 41-credit, upper division academic program designed for adult learners who wish to relate their practical career experience to business and management theory.

The program has a special emphasis on the knowledge and skills essential for the management of human resources in private and public organizations. Providing a comprehensive, practical background in the social and management sciences, the program provides course work in the following areas: oral and written communications; leadership, human resources management, organizational behavior and business ethics; management information systems, statistics, and marketing; and financial planning and control.

The core curriculum is structured sequentially, with students taking one course at a time. Courses involve four-hour class sessions once a week, usually for five weeks. Participants also form study groups made up of three to five students who meet outside of class for four hours on a weekly basis to work on assigned individual and group projects.

At the end of the program, students complete a capstone course that integrates material from the previous course work through a focus on strategic organizational leadership and includes the completion of a major paper addressing an issue, problem, or concern in the student’s work environment.

Bachelor of Science in Strategic Management of Information Systems


Degree Description
The Bachelor of Science in Strategic Management of Information Systems (BS-SMIS) is a 44-credit, upper-division, academic program designed for adult learners who wish to relate their practical, technical career experience to business and management theory.

The program emphasizes the strategies involved in managing technology and the information it generates. The program includes courses which provide a basic management foundation, including such areas as critical thinking, management and leadership, statistics, economics, and an introduction to management information systems.

Courses such as project management, legal and ethical issues, and marketing provide an introduction to the general environment of information systems in business, while courses in database management, enterprise resource planning, and systems analysis and design provide a more in-depth focus on specific strategies.

The core curriculum is structured so that students take one course at a time in a designated sequence. At the end of the course sequence, students are required to complete a Capstone Course which integrates material from all of the previous coursework and apply it to a real-world challenge or opportunity.

A minimum of 128 undergraduate credits is required for the BS-SMIS degree.
